KANGACRUZ MOBILITY JUMPS ON BOARD FOR VICTORY AT SEASON OPENER
MAY 22

It didn’t take long for the freshly minted partnership between the legendary Northern Force Racing team and St. Catherines, Ontario based mobility company Kangacruz to hop into the winners circle, with the team taking the CAN-AM Stock/Super Stock event championship this past Saturday at historic St. Thomas Raceway Park in Sparta, Ontario.

After a nearly two-year hiatus from driving, and in only his second race at the controls of the team’s new GT/EA Chevrolet Cavalier, second generation racer Jory Elliott came up with a strong driving performance which, combined with the knowledge and experience of his Hall of Fame inducted father, and crew member Kirk Vanni, propelled the team to success on the tricky 1/8th mile racing surface.

“We headed to the track Friday and did some testing to give me some seat time and to get a read on the updates that were made to the car during the off-season,” said Elliott. “That test session provided us with some good data to work with on Saturday and we feel it gave us an advantage over our competitors.”

Elliott took the win over Al “The King” Lozon in the final, who was also returning to driving after a long hiatus, and was one of the drivers who signed off on Elliott’s competition licensing session eight years prior. “To race Al in the finals was just awesome,” Elliott said with a big smile on his face. “He’s such a great guy and an equally great racer, so to compete against him and win was gratifying for our entire team on a couple of levels.”

Kangacruz joins the team for 2018 as they look to introduce their product line of uniquely designed, totally portable electric vehicles to the motorsports industry. “We’ve got a cool looking black on black version of their Aspire RS mini golf cart that we’ll have at the track with us all year, and we know it’s going to generate some serious interest because of it’s compact size and looks,” said Elliott. It’s compact enough that it fits perfectly in the minimal space we have available in the race trailer for a pit vehicle and gives us the mobility we need when we’re at a facility where we’ve got a lot of distance to travel to accomplish everything we do over a three or four day race weekend.”

Kangacruz offers a wide variety of electric mobility products, with the most popular of those being their Aspire mini golf cart models.  The carts are designed with portability and accessibility in mind, including the newest Aspire RS-T model, which features tiller steering, making it an extra-large mobility formatted vehicle that can be used where golf carts cannot. In-house modifications, made at the company’s 35 Seapark Drive facility in St. Catharines, make the Aspire SS model retractable with the single touch of a button to the point that it can fit inside the storage compartment under an RV. Visit kangacruz.com to check out their entire product lineup and to see them in action.

Also pledging support to the team in 2018 is performance parts and accessories partner Performance Unlimited.  Family owned and focused on providing competitive pricing and service for the muscle car, hot rod, drag racing and truck enthusiast, Northern Force Racing is proud to have the support of the London, Ontario based retailer, selling online at performanceunlimited.ca and at it’s 425 First Street location.
