Racing since 1963, team patriarch Bob Elliott formed the Northern Force Racing team in 1980 when he bought his first Funny Car.
The name was coined by Bob's wife Gloria, who played off the popularity of the Star Wars trilogy at the time and the fact that the team hailed from the northern region of the continent. That name has proven popular, no matter where the team competes, given it's geographical reference to the north.
The name carried Bob through a hall of fame driving and ownership career that saw him lead national points standings, set world performance standards, win multiple events throughout North America and set nearly 50 track records in the process.
Today that winning tradition carries on with Bob & Gloria's son Jory sharing the driving duties with his dad. Over the past decade Jory has earned multiple event championships and qualified for the IHRA world championships in 2012.
On top of the teams commitment to success on the track, we also use our value as a marketing platform to deliver positive return on the investments our partners make in us.
In addition, we have a track record of support for community and social initiatives, something we view as integral to our efforts as a race team.
